Speechless

Anderson just showed me the money. $30K in total ($15K for 1st year, $15 for 2nd year).

Wow. Just....wow. Considering I'm a CA resident, that is a substantial chunk of the expense. Thank god I have an office, because I'm a mess right now. Called my mom, crying and hyperventilating.

I have to accept by March 1st. Not sure what this means for my outstanding apps (W/Chi), and McCombs is most likely out of the running at this point. I need to think.

That is Ginormous. Congrats, WC!

this was one 'argument' for keeping the other CA application live, i.e. if they admitted you and offered money ... but it seems this is moot now since you got this offer, CONGRATS!

Wow, I am in good company - I just received an email for the Anderson Fellowship as well!

Just called my mom too ... but ... uh ...no crying or hyperventilating =)

Gosh, I can't get rid of this grin on my face ... =)

CONGRATS! That's basically a full ride with in-state tuition, right? I'm so excited for you!

Congrats to you too Cal-Grad...

Classy, not quite. Their student budget for CA residents is $46K/yr, with $21K of that being tuition. It used to be a bigger differential betweeen in-state/out-of-state (like $15K vs $31K), but the state's current financial situation has resulted in tuition increases.

It still rocks!

That's great news! I'm so happy for you. And you deserve it. Sounds like they really want you. I know the money is a big deal.... but I would suggest that you consider which school is really best for you and not let the money buy you. Just my two cents... and don't in anyway want to belittle the great news you got today.

As far as I know, that's the best offer numbers-wise that you could get from any of the UC schools. They must really want you! :-)

You definitely have some thinking to do. Congratulations in any case! Wow.

nice one! I have a friend at Anderson and he has nothing but good things to say about the curriculum and people there. (he's not the cheerleader type either)

Congrats WC! That's so awesome.

And if you're worried about Chicago or Wharton, just accept Anderson before March 1 and then make a decision later if you get in to Chicago or Wharton. I know, it kind of sucks holding a seat when you might not go, but that is what people do when they go on the waitlist somewhere. And, if you do opt for one of the other schools down the road, it'll open up a spot for someone on the Anderson waitlist!
